Countdown to Shorty: 2 Days

Only 2 days! No picture today.:( BUT I am planning Rosy's next trick. I'm thinking about leg weaves or crawling. Leg weaves help me with agility. Crawling just looks cute. And I'm puppy-proofing. Latches, sprung cleaning, plant patril. You name it, I'm doing it. Oh, and a puppy seatbelt. Two, actually. We managed to lose Rost's. I know, it may not be as good as crates, but it's easier and about as safe. Plus, you get to sit with your dogs. Shorty's first night will be so frustrating! I'll want to let her out of her crate/bed and let her into mine. Rosy will sleep pratically anywhere. Hahaha! Shorty is going to be a well-behaved agility dog. I can't wait!

About the Author

Well, for starters, I love dogs. I'm still a student, but my plan is to make either a career out of them or just animals in general. I favor smart dogs, because I need to interact with my dogs. That's where training comes in. I use positive reinforcement, and give treats as a reward. Rosy was my first dog, but I remember wanting one as a very little girl. I've recently been interested in agility (well, for a couple of years), but Rosy is best at tiny little tricks to entertain visitors. Shorty will probably do the agility, and will be my first agility dog.
Besides dogs, I also like writing. It's really my passion, though lots of people consider me dog-obsessed. I'm a total nerd about it too. And I'm a grammar freak.
I also like to stand up for what I think is right, or what genus a hamster is in. Hamsters, by the way, are another pet of mine. Dogs and Campbell's dwarf hamsters, which actually mix just fine. I've raised two litters of hamsters, seven all together.
Anyway (enough about hamsters!), I also love swimming, though I don't encourage my dogs to do it. It's a bit of a family sport on my father's side: My father did it, my grandfather did it, and my great grandfather did it. I also do softball.
My sister likes photography, which I'm not particularly good at (or good at all), so all the amazing photos are most likely done by her. She's spectacular.
I've never had an agility dog before, but I did think about it often. Cockapoos have perfect intelligence and stamina for small dog agility. They're also great pets, which is why my family owns two!

Rosy

Rosy is our first dog. She's an F1 cockapoo and about 8 years old. She's a real smarty, but very stubborn! Besides that, she's a complete couch potato, but loves long walks and toys. Especially tennis balls. She's a good watchdog, no doubt. She'll never be an agility dog, but she's very fun to train and entertaining to watch! She gets along just fine with other animals and even strangers (besides excessive barking), with the exception of cats. But that's okay, because one of the family is allergic to cats.
